Alexis's Utah Friendly Joke

Alexis: Knock, Knock
Who's There?
Alexis: Missonaries
Missionaries Who?
Alexis: Shhhh they are right at the door.

Everyone seems to get a kick out of it...and it is way cuter when Lex says it

Family Update

Life is crazy! I have been seriously slacking on my blog :(. Since May Addison has started talking (she says four words now Mama, Dada, Papa, & Baba). She has also been pulling herself up on the furniture and crusing along it. Lexi is turning 5 next month and is funny as ever. More to come on Lexi's funny comments. Kaylee is nearly potty trained and is speaking in full sentences. More to come on their funny comments!

Dancing in the Fog...

Today for lunch I made some tater tots and there were a few little tater pieces that were really tiny so when I pulled them out of the oven they were smoking and burnt...So the little burnt pieces made our kitchen all smokey. It really amazes me how much smoke our little kitchen can contain, but as I am fanning the smoke detectors to stop them from beeping Lexi runs up to the kitchen and says:
"Oh thank you mom! I love dancing in the fog!"

Funny little girl

Today the girls and I were watching Miss Spider's Sunny Patch and there was a new little bug character on there called little sis. In the middle of the show little sis gets lost so all of the little buglets start calling out "little sis, little sis where are you?" at which point Kaylee starts saying "What" after each time they say little sis, lol. More often than not I call Kaylee little sis and not Kaylee, I am pretty sure she was thinking that someone was looking for her!

Negotiations

Apparently Alexis has taken a page out of Tim's negotiation book and is really going to be a great negotioator some day. This is the conversation we had last night.
A: "Mom since I was so good today how many stickers can I have?"
(this was really strong, assuming that she could have a sticker and also not asking for a set amount...let the negotiation begin)
M: "Well Lex I will let you have 2."
A: "How about three?"
M: "No Honey I said 2 only"
A: "Ok how about four then:
Totally her father's child!
M: "Babe nice try but you are going in the wrong direction"
She did settle and was satisfied with 2 but I have a feeling in a few years I may be in some trouble!

Lexi's first glove ball mit

Last night we bought Lex her first baseball mit so her and Tim can start practicing. She is great at throwing but needs a little work with the catching. She says she loves baseball, and hopes that she will get her first glove ball mit trophy this year lol.

Transformers

So we were going through the drive-thru at starbucks this morning and half way between the menu and pick up window there was a huge transformer box.
Lexi ask Tim "Dad what is that"
Tim: "That is a transformer"
Lexi at this point got crazy happy and was then very concerned if the robot was a good guy or a bad guy...Tim then tried to explain that it was a transformer box that helped to make phones and lights and such work, but the only thing she was concerned about what if it could see her through the "line holes" aka the lines seperating each box, and if it would hurt us in the car, and if optimus prime could save us....

My new bank...from Lexi

So for Alexis we reward her with stickers on a chart, and when she gets a row of ten she gets a dollar, and she also gets a trip to Boondocks when she completes an entire chart (60 stickers). With the recent holidays and birthday she has obtained some serious cash flow and she has also completed a couple of rows on her chart to earn a few extra dollars. I suggested that she could either spend the money or we could open up a bank account for her where she can take her money to the bank and they can hold it for her until she decides where to spend it. She was very excited about this idea. When Tim got home from work later that evening they had this conversation:

Lex: "Hey dad, are you a good builder...and like can build lots of stuff?"

Tim: "Yes, I am a pretty good builder"

Lex: "And dad are my friends at your work (Tim has some co-workers that Lexi adores) good builders and painters?"

Tim: "I bet they can paint and build yes"

Lex: "Well do you think that they can come over tomorrow and help us build and paint?"

Tim: "What are you planning to build and paint tomorrow?"

Lex: "Well mom said that I can have my very own bank, but I need some one to build it and paint it so they will keep my money safe until I am ready to buy something"

Needless to say I spent the next few days trying to explain the difference between a bank account and a bank...I am not sure if she understands yet, but for now she has decided to forgo the bank account and keep her money in her wallet and her change in her piggy bank.

My big 13 month old!

Kaylee is getting too big! This week we transitioned to a big girl cup :( which will be helpful when the new little one comes. She has conquered the stairs and can now safely travel up and down all three flights! She is really learning new words and things each day! The proudest of her accomplishments so far is the fact that I can ask her if she needs a diaper change and she will now get me a diaper! Woo HOO maybe I won't have two kids in diapers for too long!

Family Update!

Ok so I know I promised more funny stories and such about the family...Sorry! But I thought that I would give everyone a little family update now that I am kind of settled for another week or so lol.

Ok some about me: I am litterally weeks away from my due date with Baby number 3, we have picked out a name (finally) but I haven't decided on the spelling yet so for now atleast in writing I will stick to baby number 3 for a few more days! I am loving being a staying at home mom (weird for me I know) and really enjoying being close to my sister in law Annie and her wonderful family. It is also so nice to have Tim's parents Tammy and Steve close I really don't think I would have survived the summer or fall...and I guess now that winter is almost over that too with out them. The girls really love having the family close too! Other than trying to stay awake during the day and pushing through my last month being pregnant I have really just been relaxing and trying to settle into our new house. The move to Utah has been one of the best decisions that Tim and I have made to date and I am so happy we decided to go!!

Tim: Tim is really busier than ever. He has been working so hard at his new job with Mike Hale Acura and making some great improvements to the store. Everyone is really pleased to have him there and I am really happy that he is happy :). Although he has been logging like 60+ hours a week I really feel like we get to spend way more time together here then we did in Denver, so that is really nice too! He also has had a little time to play golf on his days off and it is nice that Steve is close so they can hang out and go together.

Alexis: Lex turned four in January...which makes me feel a little old I am not going to lie. She is getting so big and truley coming into her own personality. She started preschool this year and is doing fabuloulsy with learning all new things, and she seems to be retaining a lot of the information too which is great! She is also growing like a weed and not surprisingly she is in size 6 slim clothes and is the tallest in her class. She loves to sing and dance and can dribble a basketball like no four year old I know!

Kaylee: Kaylee is such a happy little stinker, just really good natured and funny! She started walking about 4 months ago and is seriously running now! She has also started talking and her favorite word is "WHAT" anytime I say her name it is immediately followed by a "what" and a smile. She loves to chase our cats and run up and down the stairs. But her favorite thing is Lexi, she will sit at the bottom of the stairs yelling for her until Alexis invites her to play. It is so cute! I am really happy that they get along so well!

So that is about it...not much just busy with our everyday things and awaiting the new baby. I will keep you all updated on all other things to come!
